Edipsos
Edipsos is a picturesque village in northern Evia known for its thermal waters, landscapes of natural beauty and its impressive old buildings. A walk along the coastal road of Edipsos, where large, imposing buildings (that preserve the aesthetics of the Belle Epoque) is enough to take you back in time.
In addition to the thermal baths, various traditions, such as the Edipsos Carnival and the Burning of the Wreaths, are another attraction for the region.
Thanks to its geographical position, Edipsos is ideal for holidays in all seasons of the year since it ideally combines mountain and sea. It is aimed at those looking for carefree holidays and rejuvenation.
Edipsos has been a famous spa town since ancient times. In fact, the healing power of its waters was enjoyed by, among others, Emperors, such as Hadrian, Marcus Aurelius and Constantine the Great. Today, it is still a hot destination, as in Edipsos and the surrounding area we can explore many attractions.

Hydrotherapy centers of Edipsos
Today, thousands of visitors come every year to perhaps the best-known Greek spa town, to visit one of the most modern and largest hydrotherapy centers in Greece. The thermal spring, with its superheated waters, is located just 500 meters from the port of Edipsos and occupies an area of 23.5 acres. The old “Agios Anargyro” hydrotherapy center, which was built before 1950 and has been designated as a newer, preserved monument, still exists on the site but has given way to a new, model hydrotherapy center.
Syllas Cave
The so-called “Cave” of Sylla, is located behind the EOT hydrotherapy center in Loutra Edipsos. It is a small cruciform building with a dome, from the Roman period, which has been covered by the sulfuric deposits of the waters of the area and gives the impression of a cave.Nevertheless, it is a temple that an American researcher says he saw covered by the deposits of the springs at the beginning of the 20th century. and named him Agios Enarios.
At the entrance are two oversized statue pedestals with honorary inscriptions to the emperors Hadrian and Septimius Severus, which were moved there much later, probably during the Byzantine period.Syllas was associated much later with this monument, because it was the only visible ancient relic of the area in the 19th century.
The bull of oreon village
In August 1965 on the beach of Orea, during the expansion of the port, a hologlyph votive of supernatural size representing a bull came to light. The Bull of Orea is made of pentelic marble, representing a bull in a charging position (rushing bull-cruising bull). It is one of the largest sculptures in volume and weight that have been found in Greece, it is located on the beach of Orea, next to the Archaeological Collection.
